I am delighted to welcome you to my traditional Hijazi home, where you will share a unique and warm experience with my family. Our gathering begins with authentic Saudi hospitality – Saudi coffee and fresh dates – setting the tone for an evening full of warmth and tradition. We will then take you on a cultural journey, sharing stories about Jeddah’s rich heritage, its vibrant touristic and entertainment destinations, and its historic and modern markets, so you can discover the true spirit of this enchanting city. Next, we’ll move to the kitchen to prepare one of our most cherished traditional dishes: Manto (white flour dough filled with minced lamb and onion, steamed to perfection). You’ll witness each step, from kneading the dough to wrapping the small dumplings and cooking them in the traditional steaming pot. Manto is served with a special vinegar sauce and Spicy Laza (red chili cooked with garlic and oil) and is often enjoyed with yogurt. Alongside, we’ll prepare flavorful Bukhari rice, a fresh salad, and then gather around the table to enjoy the dinner together. To finish on a sweet note, you’ll savor Tatli Custard and Basbousa, complemented by hot tea the perfect ending to a heartwarming cultural feast.
